WELCOME TO THE
MIGHTY RICHLAND PLAYERS DESSERT THEATER!
Who are we?
We are a little theater with a big heart!
Located not far from the banks of Richland Creek, The Mighty Richland Players Dessert Theater, also known as MRPDT, was founded in 2001. An amateur community theater, it serves northwest Illinois, southwest Wisconsin, and the surrounding areas. We are a non-profit 501 c (3) organization focused on community entertainment for the area. The cast and crew are all people of the region who give their time and talents to the community theater.
Our building has a varied history...
Built by the Masons 145 years ago in 1876, the Masonic Hall opened as Orangeville’s first public stage and auditorium. The independent Order of Odd Fellows rented the hall for meetings and in 1893 purchased it from the Masonic Hall Association for $1,800. The building has also served for 138 years as the lodge hall for the Orangeville Masonic Lodge. MRPDT now owns the historic building. Carefully restored to its former glory through public and private funds, the building is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
What we offer theater-goers...
MRPDT offers a combination dessert and theatrical performance. Proud to bring to theater-goers familiar stage actor favorites and new area talent, we also bring to the table some of the best tasting desserts around. Come join us for a great time!
